In these video clips I show a few hand techniques that we use in Rebalancing. Rebalancing is a bodywork system combining deep tissue work with joint release, breath work, and inner awareness. My orientation in the trainings is mainly to support the students' qualification for professional holistic practice.

Osho Rebalancing - shed old habits and find your own center
In the hectic lifestyle of everyday life many people are 'beside themselves'. They feel in a rush, uneasy and have back pain or other discomforts. Rebalancing is a method to come back into balance.
This type of bodywork, created in the field of the spiritual master Osho in the late 70ties, works with a synthesis of many different techniques, including Rolfing, Feldenkrais and Alexander. It is very successful and Manfred Neeten Hendrich explains why it is so effective. He has worked for 25 years as a body worker in many places including where he now resides and works the Biohotel Gutshaus Stellshagen at the Baltic Sea. He has trained Rebalancing therapists for 18 years.
Editor: How does Rebalancing compare to classical massage?
Hendrich: We do not treat the symptom of a person rather the whole individual. We see the symptom as a friend who helps one to get well. We work very individually. As well as deep tissue work and joint release, we add when needed, elements such as posture training breath work or meditation.
Editor: Do you get fast results with Rebalancing?
Hendrich: Yes, because the connective tissue is very flexible. Discomforts can sometimes disappear in one session.
Editor: Why do you recommend more than one session?
Hendrich: Well, the body stores the posture or the movement error. So people return to their old patterns of movement and fall out of balance again. When you learn to let go of your old habits, the discomfort does not need to come back and you regain ease of movement.
Editor: What exactly does the body store?
Hendrich: All body experiences and their attached emotions, for example traumas from operations or injuries. Through the touch and development of a healthy awareness, one can process these negative incidents, so that one can experience oneself anew.
Editor: What impact do sessions have on the everyday life?
Hendrich: When you find your center in the body you also gain a spiritual balance. The breath gets calmer, and there is more mindfulness of posture and movements. We also give little practices to take home. For example: 'Every time you open a door take a deep breath in' or 'Put your hand on your belly before you go to sleep'. The practice can be connected with ones favorite sport or other activities - it doesn't matter if you do yoga, run a marathon or work in the garden. The change needs to be fun.
Editor: How did you find Rebalancing?
Hendrich: I already had experience with bodywork and was looking for a new direction. I had a rebalancing session and started the training straight after. It was an intuitive decision. Back then I did not know that Rebalancing would be such a big part of my life.
Editor: Why is Rebalancing personally so valuable to you?
Hendrich: The work is very grounding. I am always anchored and centered in the body. It is a meditation when I give a session. I also enjoy seeing the change in people.
Editor: How do they change?
Hendrich: I have a trainee in Taiwan who I have known for 12 years. He was in the movie-business and drank a lot. He was extremely exhausted and repeatedly came to me. After every session he looked refreshed. However after a week of work he was exhausted again. Then he started training in Rebalancing himself and treated people in hospitals pro bono. Now he has arrived in his center and is healthy and content. He stopped drinking, got married and has two children. I was often allowed to witness such amazing experiences.

Editor: For whom is this training?
Hendrich: For all medical practitioners, physiotherapists, osteopaths and other therapy professionals, and also for all those who feel intuitively that it is the right thing for them. For example there is a carpenter in our current training.
Editor: What sort of skills does a Rebalancing therapist need?
Hendrich: An essential tool is to remain present in our own body. We need to be open to recognize our emotions and to release them e.g. thru active and passive mindfulness meditation. We need be able to listen and be self-reflective and obviously have no fear of physical contact.
Editor: Is it true that the training is taught bilingually?
